Death to Communism

Ladies and Gentlemen, I want you to ask yourselves the following question: Who am I? Well, who are you? Are you someone who supports mass starvation? Do you think it is right for people to be restricted of their right to know what life is like outside their own country? Do people like you wish for people who dare to have their own opinions arrested and killed? Are you a proponent of the idea that life, liberty, and property are not the inalienable rights of humanity? If so, then let us see if you have the nerve to stand up!

I then make the following charge to all of you: Help us bring an end to communist regimes throughout the world. America, since its birth, has strived to be a beacon of liberty to all the nations of the earth. We have a duty—NO! – an obligation, to maintain that beacon in these troubling times. The United States needs to bring an end to this oppression by destroying the evil regimes that force their “comrades” into a life that is worse than slavery. There is no other option but action.

Our help they need in order to gain food. Our help they need in order to avoid arrest and death for having an ideology different from that of the state. Our help they need in order to know what there is besides the despondency in which they are forced to exist.

Our help they need to live.

Perhaps it will be difficult. In fact, I know it will. But America is not one to give in when things are difficult. From our very beginning, we fought for liberty despite the difficulties. And difficulties there were. However, we persevered, and we achieved victory. We achieved victory over the British, and we were free.

However, like all glorious victories, it was not permanent. We would have to fight to keep up our beacon of liberty. In the words of Ronald Reagan, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” The American Civil War illustrates another struggle we’ve gone through to protect and polish our beacon of liberty. And once again, America emerged stronger.

Following our civil war, we were brought into 2 more wars, this time, not on our soil, but instead on the soils of oppression around the world. We once again fought long and hard to preserve our beacon of liberty. And preserve it we did. And then that beacon was able to shine across the globe.

And then, once again, liberty’s beacon began to dim. The Soviet Union soon gave birth to scores of other communist regimes, not to mention the oppression itself produced. Communism emerged not only as the most opposed to our beacon liberty, but also as the most resilient enemy we’d ever faced. Only through careful work were we able to outlive the tyrannical Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and see an end to communism in Eastern Europe.

Unfortunately, our fight against communism is not over, despite how eager we may be to abandon it. No, it will not be easy; it never has been, and it never shall. But we must not give up. We cannot give up.

Pacifism will not solve this issue. Diplomacy will not solve this issue. Isolation will not solve this issue. If these things were the ways in which we would liberate the people of communist countries, they would be free right now. Unfortunately, governments don’t just go away because they’re evil. Someone needs to get rid of them. We can be that someone.

It seems impossible. How can we destroy the governments of more than a billion people? Well, ladies and gentlemen, Napoleon Bonaparte said it best: “Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools.” He’s right. We’re not fools. We’re not failures. We’re not communists. So, then, there is but one thing we can do:

SAVE THE WORLD!
